Education and Background:
Rabbi Oberlander was born into a prominent rabbinic family. His father, Rabbi Yechiel (Michael) Oberlander, was the head of the Pupa Chassidic community. He began his Torah studies at the Pupa Yeshiva and maintained close ties with the Pupa Rebbe, Rabbi Yosef Greenwald. His studies later brought him to Yeshivas Chachmei Lublin under Rabbi Shmuel Halevi Wosner, and during this time, he also learned from Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Landau, grandson of the esteemed Rabbi Yaakov Landau, the Chief Rabbi of Bnei Brak. It was during these formative years that Rabbi Oberlander deepened his connection to the Chabad movement.
